NYU Shanghai students will live in the newly built Jinqiao Residence Hall. The Jinqiao area will provide students with the opportunity to become involved in an up and coming residential neighborhood while still having a connection to the Luijiazui financial district, where the NYU Shanghai academic center is located as well as most major companies and internships. Students are just steps away from the Jinqiao international commercial plaza and will have a rich environment to explore some of the best western and Chinese dining options in Shanghai. A complimentary shuttle will run between the academic center and the residence hall giving students easy access to classes with a 20 minute commute.
The residence hall will create an ideal environment for the NYU Shanghai residential community. Students will be able to concentrate on their studies comfortably, explore the metropolis of Shanghai and benefit from a diverse community that will challenge them to become true global citizens.
Interior images of the Jingqiao residence hall will become available as soon as construction is complete.
Students will have various living options. They may choose communal-style living, which includes private rooms for 8-12 students, double and large double rooms, a common kitchen and five single-stall bathrooms. There are also four-person apartments with two singles and one large double room.
Singles: Students will have a bed (90cm wide), desk and closet space in their room. In the communal-style space, students will share the five single-stall bathrooms. In the apartments, the two single-room students will share one bathroom.
Doubles: There will be two students in the room; each will have their own bed, desk and closet space. Students in the communal-style living will share the five single-stall bathrooms, and students in the apartments will share a bathroom directly attached to the bedroom.
Large Double: $2,128
Large Double: $3,813
Housing, tuition, & fees will be billed directly to your NYU Bursar account. All NYU Shanghai students will be billed an estimated housing charge, which has no bearing on your final assignment. Once known, actual housing charges will be placed on student accounts and estimated charges will be reversed. Students will receive their housing assignment through their housing portal or NYU email account shortly before arrival. We will not send this information to another email address or release it over the phone.
