Housing

It is a condition of the program that all students live in NYU-arranged housing

Off-Campus Apartments

While construction on our new residence hall is completed, students studying away in Shanghai for the 2014-15 academic year will be living in two full-service residential apartments in the area of Shanghai known as Pudong. In the fall semester, students will be housed at the Grand Pujian Residence and in the spring, at the Belgravia Serviced Residence. Both complexes are fully-furnished
near the expansive Shanghai subway system, and within walking distance of the Academic Center. NYU Shanghai will provide a shuttle Monday through Friday between the apartment complex and campus. All students have on-site Resident Assistants and 24/7 building security.

Housing Fees and Payment

Housing, tuition, & fees will be billed directly to your NYU Bursar account. All NYU Shanghai students will be billed an estimated housing charge, which has no bearing on your final assignment. Once known, actual housing charges will be placed on student accounts and estimated charges will be reversed. Students will receive their housing assignment through their housing portal or NYU email account shortly before arrival. We will not send this information to another email address or release it over the phone.

Things to Know

  • A bilingual Shanghai local acts as a resident assistant for students living off-campus
  • Short commute to NYU campus
  • Cleaners are only responsible for the apartment’s common areas. Students will have to clean their own rooms.
