Independent

Independent Housing (Option 2) means that you would prefer to find your own housing in Paris rather than request NYU to find housing for you. 

Students who choose Independent Housing are typically students who already have accommodations available for them in Paris (through family, relatives, etc.) or students who prefer to work with a broker to secure accommodations in Paris prior to their departure.

Students who select Option 2 on their housing questionnaire will be provided with a New York-based rental agency who you can work with to find housing to suite your preferences. You should expect to pay a non-refundable “finder’s fee” to the agency before departing for Paris, which is equivalent to one month’s rent. NYU Paris has negotiated a 15% discount on the fee if you use our recommended broker.
