Eric Sneddon

Professor Slapper is Global Professor at New York University, and the author of many major law books, and academic articles. He is a legal consultant at 36 Bedford Row, the Chambers of Frances Oldham QC, and a writer on Law for The London Times. He is also a columnist for The Times online.

Before becoming director of NYU London, Professor Slapper was Dean of the Law School at the Open University, and taught a course on Law and Society at NYU London. He is Visiting Professor of Law at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He read Law as an undergraduate and postgraduate at University College London, and gained his doctorate from the London School of Economics.

Eric Sneddon

Eric has overall responsibility for all operational, student life, HR, financial, legal and planning issues. He also works with the Director on certain academic matters. Before joining NYUL in 2009 he was the Director of International Operations for Central College Abroad and had also led their programme in London. Eric is a graduate of the University of Edinburgh and completed postgraduate education studies at the University of Cambridge.

Karin Bonello

Karin assists with the academic management of the site. She has degrees in Comparative Literature & Hispanic Studies from Brown, and a Masters in Sociology from Columbia. Before joining us at NYU, she worked with study abroad and exchange programs at Columbia and Rutgers. She has lived and worked in Ecuador, Spain & the Czech Republic.


Nigel Freeman

Nigel is responsible for the provision of health, welfare and Orientation activities, and many other services for NYU in London and Tisch in London upperclassmen students, having joined NYU in London in February 2005. He has a degree in Philosophy from the University of Leeds, is working towards a Masters degree in Management, and has looked after the welfare needs of American students in London for over a decade.

Tony Skitt- Senior Programme Manager for Student Life

Tony leads the planning of co-curricular events and excursions, within the Student Life team. He is also the primary contact for Freshman students as NYU London, overseeing programmes of student welfare and pastoral support alongside the planning of Freshman events and trips. Tony has an honours degree in Business Administration, a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (qualified teacher status) and many years experience working within international education, having run international programmes in Africa, Asia, Australia, the Americas, Europe and the Middle East.

Robert Pinkerton

Robert leads the planning of co-curricular events and excursions and the organisation of public programmes at NYUL. He also coordinates community service and sports programming. Robert has been working with international students in London since 2001 and has worked at NYUL since May 2006. Robert has a degree in History from the University of Sheffield.

Robert Pinkerton

Donna provides counselling and wellness programming for NYU London Students. Donna joins NYU London from the Midlands. Working for 12 years as a part-time Peripatetic Counsellor she has set up and run the Counselling services in 3 Secondary schools. Donna has a Masters Degree in Counselling and is a BACP Accredited Counsellor. Donna also holds the Relate Certificate in Marriage and Couples Counselling and has worked privately with this client group.

Ruth Tucker

Ruth assists with human resources, timetabling, finance and facilities. She has degrees in English from Manchester Metropolitan University and Goldsmiths College, University of London. Before joining NYU in London, Ruth worked at The Bodleian Library in Oxford.

Luke Harper

Luke assists with academic affairs and supervises the student office assistants each semester. He holds a BSc degree in Multimedia and Digital Systems from Sussex University. Before joining NYU in London, Luke worked as the Examinations Coordinator at the Royal College of Physicians in London.

James Waygood

James assists with Student Life provisions, including welfare, housing, cultural trips/excursions and community service. James has a degree in Accounting & Law from the University of Manchester after which he worked as a Sabbatical Student Intern supporting Peer Support initiatives in the Faculty of Medical and Human Sciences prior to joining NYUL.

Clare Calland

Clare can be found in the Student Resource Room and assists with all student life provisions including welfare, housing and community service. Clase has a degree in History from the University of Leicester and spent her third year studying at the University of Malta. Prior to working at NYU in London, Clare held positions as Student Representative while at university and Student Ambassador, as well as working in various support roles

Fenton Green

Fenton is responsible for managing the technical services that NYU in London provide to staff and students. Fenton has a first class degree in Maths and Physics from King's College and has many years experience in IT working for Power Gen, Sainsbury's, Sage and Video Networks.

Kate Stein

Kate is a graduate of Sarah Lawrence College and Cambridge University. Kate's career has centred on UK and US education, covering diverse organisations such as the US-UK Education Commission, the UK Embassy in Washington DC and US government agencies. Before joining NYUL in 2011, Kate was Programme Coordinator of the Fordham University London Centre. Kate lives in London and is an excellent source for living in the city and maximizing opportunities in the UK and Europe.

Consi Hoabes

Consi assists with housing and student life provisions. She has worked in student accommodation since her first year at university in various roles, including customer support assistant and administrator. She holds an aviation management degree.

Consi Hoabes

Chris has responsibilities for both student welfare and facility administration within the NYUL residences. Chris has a degree in Economics from the University of Surrey where he also spent a semester abroad at the University of North Texas. Furthermore, Chris has a Masters degree in International Planning from University College London and has previously lived in Toronto for one year. He is an ardent Tottenham Hotspur fan.

Ruth Dear

Ruth joined NYU in London in January 2013 and is based at Byron Court Residence. She has an Honours degree in Communications and Popular Music from the University of Liverpool and is also a qualified English as a Foreign Language teacher. Ruth has lived and worked in both China and Korea and is currently studying Mandarin Chinese at SOAS. Ruth is also a keen netball player.

Mark Walters

Mark has responsibilities for security, the mail and assists with audio-visual equipment. He is a Londoner born and bred and is a good source of knowledge about London. Mark loves sport, especially football, and is a keen Arsenal supporter.

Philippa Robinson

Philippa supports the work of the Finance and Operations co-ordinator, assisting with timetabling, facilities and finance. Philippa joined NYU in London in March 2012 and has a degree in English Literature and Politics from the University of Glasgow.

Alejandro

Alejandro is the site representative for NYU London, NYU Madrid, and NYU Shanghai.  He graduated from NYU with a masters in International Education and is excited to be working with students as they prepare to study at NYU London!
