The NYU in London Academic Centre is located on Bedford Square in the academic heart of London. It consists of two converted Georgian houses at #6 and #4-5. The London Centre contains classrooms, two computer labs, wireless internet access, administrative and faculty offices, student resource area, student lounge and a study area. NYUL also operates two residences in refurbished buildings in Bloomsbury, both within a 15 minute walk of the Academic Centre.
The NYUL Academic Centre perfectly illustrates the very best of historic Bloomsbury - three elegantly converted Georgian houses, dating back to the 19th century, which face an attractive garden square. Most classes are held within the classrooms available at the facility.
Faculty frequently take the opportunity to lead excursions and class-related visits to relevant sites beyond the Academic Centre, whether in London itself or elsewhere in England.
Besides classroom space, the London centre is also home to administrative and faculty offices, two computer labs containing 40 apple iMac computers running Windows and Mac OS X (with a photocopier/printer in each lab), and communal areas for students such as a student lounge. In the student lounge, students can utilise reference copies of weekly and bi-weekly publications such as Time Out and The Gay Times (and many more), whilst in the study lounge publications such as Nature and New Scientist are available. The London centre has wireless throughout and we therefore recommend that students bring laptops wherever possible. Students can find out about the wide range of opportunities, resources and support available to them in London, and ask student life staff any questions they might have in the Student Resource Room
