You cannot begin the UK visa application process any sooner than 90 days prior to the beginning or your academic program. For FALL 2013, the EARLIEST you can begin your visa application is May 30th, 2013. Please be patient, and more information will be sent to you at the appropriate time.
HOWEVER, it is never too early to obtain/renew your PASSPORT. All NYU London students will require a passport that is valid for 6 months AFTER the end of their academic program.
Liberal Studies Freshmen in London for Academic Year '13-'14 should have a passport valid through November 25th, 2014.

NYU does not have the ability to change visa requirements, nor does it help if we call consulates or embassies on your behalf. Though we're happy to help you in whatever way we can, the decision to issue you a visa rests solely with the consulate or embassy. Below you'll find instructions for getting your visa. Bear in mind that information may be tailored for US students, and/or those applying from within the US; non-US citizens may have additional requirements.
- Tier-4 Visa Instructions (***coming soon!)
NOTE: The Tier-4 Visa is required for all students spending more than one semester in London, as well as for all students who wish to work or intern in the UK. Obtaining a Tier-4 Visa requires a Confirmation of Acceptance for Study (or "CAS") Number. In order to obtain a CAS Number, you must meet all visa deadlines set forth by Liberal Studies advising. Failure to meet any visa deadline might result in your inability to obtain a Tier-4 visa.
We absolutely cannot, by law, under any circumstances, obtain a CAS Number less than 6 weeks prior to your arrival in the UK. This means, if you haven't been assigned a CAS number before July 18th, 2013, you will not be able to obtain a Tier-4 visa for the Fall 2013 term.
