Get a Metro Pass

The NYU Berlin Staff are very helpful with this, they will help you to locate the closest U-bahn subway station where you can purchase your "Month Pass." Make sure you ALWAYS carry your Month Pass with you! Have fun!

Make Sure You Have Your ISIC (International Student Identification Card) and Your NYU Berlin ID

You get some great student discounts as a European university student, so bring it with you when you travel!

Take a Walk Around Your New Neighborhood

Check out restaurants, and try to find your local grocery store (markt in German). Locate the nearest trams and subway stops! Berlin is known for a thriving café culture, so you will likely find yourself getting acclimated to the city while sipping milchkaffee.

Buy the Basics

Head downstairs for groceries and stop by a backerei (bakery) for some delicious German delights.
