Taking Classes in Other NYU Schools
Steinhardt School of Education(Ed)
Notes, Advice and Tips About School of Education
- The School of Ed contains many departments of interest to Gallatin students, such as music and fine arts. Courses in the School of Ed are often easier to get into than courses in TSOA.
- Gallatin s tudents can arrange private music lessons for NYU credit through the School of Ed’s program in music and music professions. To arrange these, stop by in person at 35 West 4th Street, 6th Floor. There, you will be given a quick assessment and put into an appropriate group for your skill level. Students cannot register for music lessons via Albert; they must be registered in person at the School of Ed. Although you will receive NYU credit for these lessons, School of Ed private lessons do not count toward your K credit requirement.
- Many School of Ed courses require special registration permission. Follow the registration instructions printed under the course title and time in the NYU Directory of Classes.
