The Community Learning Initiative (CLI) Grant is now available to assist faculty, clubs, organizations, groups, or individual students in sponsoring programs, projects, or events for the Gallatin School of Individualized Study. CLI bridges the gap between the classroom and the outside world by creating innovative partnerships with community-based organizations, groups and individuals, in addressing real-world problems and implementing practical solutions. The CLI grant provides an additional opportunity for individual students and groups to take part in this initiative. For more information on CLI or the CLI Grant, please contact Melissa Daniel at melissa.daniel@nyu.edu.
In order to be considered, grant proposals must meet the following funding requirements:
Proposed event, project, or initiative must
- Actively engage with the local New York City community
- Generate a reciprocal relationship that provides benefit and education to both a community in need and Gallatin students
- Offer a reflective and dialogical space wherein students and community members can think about their experiences and reflect on the meaning and ethics of their practice, both individually and for their communities at large.
