Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics Conference on Discrete Mathematics

June 16-19, 2008, Burlington, Vermont

The purpose of this conference is to highlight the major theoretical advances in the field of discrete mathematics, the development of new tools for discrete mathematics, and the most significant of the new applications of discrete mathematics to problems arising in industry and business. The conference also seeks to bring together participants from the many different environments where discrete mathematics is developed and applied.

Teaching and Learning for Empowerment Conference: A Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Conference for Minority Serving Institutions and Institutions Serving Minorities

January 16-17, 2009, Atlanta, Georgia

Hosted by Clark Atlanta University

 

This conference focuses on the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) as developed by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching as pedagogy of transformation and empowerment. It targets the special populations of Minority Serving Institutions, also encouraging the use of cultural perspectives and inviting attention to teaching/learning issues facing the faculty and students of K-12 schools, Community and Technical Colleges, Four-Year Institutions, and Graduate and Professional Schools.
