The Direct Deposit-online Pay Stubs Program
What is the Direct Deposit Program?
The program consists of two distinct parts. The first is the automatic deposit of your pay to your bank account, the second is access to paycheck stubs online.
What are the benefits of the program?
The program provides convenience and secure access to your online pay stubs. You no longer have to wait for your paycheck to arrive through the mail; worry about it getting lost, misplaced, or getting in the wrong hands; worry about when you could get to the bank to deposit your paycheck; or, wait for your paycheck to “clear” and be available as cash.
What is an “Online Pay Stub”?
An “online pay stub” is generated by the Payment Image Retrieval System. Simply, it is a service that allows you to view your monthly pay stubs online (using any computer with internet connection).
How do Online Pay Stubs work?
“Online Pay Stubs” is designed to be accessed online through the NYUHome website (http://home.nyu.edu). You will receive an email each pay date alerting you that your pay stubs are available for access on NYUHome. You are advised to activate Your email accounts at the NYUHome website as soon as possible (instructions are provided on the homepage of the site).
What web browsers should I use for Online Pay Stubs?
Recommended browsers for Windows users are Mozilla Firefox (Version 8) or Internet Explorer (Version 8). Recommended browsers for Apple users are Mozilla Firefox (Version 8) or Google Chrome (Version 16). Please Note that the Apple Safari browser has known function issues and is not a recommend web browser for PIRS use. If you are using Safari with an Apple keyboard, hold down the Option key + mouse click to download the PDF. Enter the password as detailed to open the PDF.
AOL users: AOL's browser is NOT compatible with Online Pay Stubs! However, if you ordinarily connect to the Internet with AOL, you can continue to do so with NYUHome. You can use AOL to establish a connection to the Internet, but you must use the current version of Netscape or Internet Explorer to login to NYUHome and use Online Pay Stubs.
I keep my paycheck stubs. Can I file these electronic stubs?
The pay stubs can be saved like any electronic file in a folder on your computer. If you prefer to file hard copies, simply print the electronic pay stubs.
Will I be able to access my pay stubs when away from NYU? When out of town or abroad?
Certainly. One of the benefits of electronic pay stubs is the capability to easily access them anytime, anywhere. All you need is a computer with an internet connection.
How safe are my electronic pay stubs? Will anyone get to see them?
Only those with valid net IDs can enter NYUHome, and only those who have valid passwords can access the electronic pay stub itself. No one can access both unless they have the valid passwords. If you save your pay stubs in a separate folder on your computer, you will be prompted to provide your personal password every time you open them. To ensure security of both your NYUHome account and your pay stubs, do not give your passwords to anyone. Also, you do not have to be concerned about a pay stub being cached in the memory of any computer you use when you travel (at airports, hotels, or internet cafes) because the data are cleared upon log-off from the system.
