The FAS Women's Faculty Caucus is a faculty advocacy group in the School of Arts and Science at NYU. It was founded in 1986, with Nancy Regalado as president for the first three years. It is open to any and all interested faculty. Our purpose is to create and maintain a hospitable environment for women faculty, and to enhance the scholarship and growth of the University by:

• promoting the welfare of faculty women at NYU
• assisting in the development of the professional lives of women within the NYU community
• initiating programs that serve the intellectual and social interests of the members and that benefit the University community

• Faculty of Arts and Sciences Task Force on Gender Equity
• Salary Equity (see below for recent reports)
• Fair Hiring and Retention of Women and Minorities
• Representation on FAS committees
• Sexual Harassment Guidelines (for NYU's current policy see NYU Guidelines and the links below)

• New Faculty Brunch
  A welcome to new FAS women faculty and their mentors. Oct 5, 2007, 9:30-11:00, Ettinghausen Library in the Kevorkian Center (50 Washington Sq. South). . Contact Marion Katz for details.
  
  
• Fall Dinner  Oct. 23,2007.   
  All are invited to meet other women faculty in FAS and Courant.
  Special guests will be Frances Milliken, from Stern, co-chair of the Dean's Women's Advisory committee. She will discuss the recent climate survey  for women at Stern.
  


• Monthly board meetings, open to all.
  First meeting of the fall: Sept. 18, 5-6 PM in Meyer Hall (6 Washington Place).

From time to time, the Women's Faculty Caucus sponsors and organizes workshops for junior women who are coming up for third-year review and promotion to tenure.
