Friedrich Heinrich Kern received both his M.A. degrees in piano and composition from Mannheim University of Music and Performing Arts in Germany, where he was active both as a student and teaching assistant. His principal teachers included Rudolf Meister, Ulrich Leyendecker and Sidney Corbett. Additionally, he spent one year studying traditional Korean music in Korea. His creative output spans a wide range of music: works for orchestra, film, and dance, as well as electronic and instrumental music. Kern's works have been programmed and commissioned by prestigious ensembles and festivals like the Gewandhaus Leipzig, the Theatre of the City of Heidelberg, Schwetzinger Festspiele, National Theatre Mannheim or the Berlin Liedfestival. His works are available in published form from Inter-Note Publishers.
