Our doctoral students
are fully funded by Henry Mitchell MacCracken Fellowships,
which provide a living stipend and full tuition for three
years (two years if the MA has previously been awarded), followed
by two years of full support as MacCracken Teaching Assistants.
The MacCracken can also be enhanced by a dean's supplement
reserved for historically underrepresented minority groups.
At the completion of
the MacCracken, several post-MacCracken fellowships, including
the Dean's Dissertation Fellowship, the Patricia Dunn Lehrman
Fellowship, the Torch Fellowship, and the Elaine Brody Fellowship
in the Humanities, are available on a competitive basis. For
an overview of Graduate Fellowships and Awards, see http://gsas.nyu.edu/page/grad.financialaid.gradfellowships
(also click "Financing Graduate Education" at the bottom of
that page for individual fellowship descriptions).
