About the Affinity Group

Enhanced Service Model for Instructional Technology Support

Guided by the Faculty Committee for the Future of Technology Enhanced Education and the Teaching Technology Governance Committees, a cross-unit collaborative team (Affinity Group) was conceived in 2013 in order to better understand, and meet, a growing University-wide need for faculty teaching technology support. The executive sponsors of the team are Matthew Santirocco, Carol Mandel, Marilyn McMillan and Tom Delaney, and its work is facilitated by Ben Maddox. Team members are from the Division of Libraries, NYU Information Technology, the Office of Academic Assessment, and the Center for the Advancement of Teaching.

The Affinity group was charged with designing, implementing, testing, and continuously improving an enhanced service model to support faculty teaching and technology The new model aims to measurably heighten faculty experience with and access to collaborative instructional technology support. A corollary objective is to simultaneously and continuously capture data to illuminate faculty needs, met and unmet, and emerging trends.
