The NYU Construction website is a joint effort by the Office of Government and Community Affairs and the Office of Facilities and Construction Management.
NYU is in the process of strategically planning its growth over the next 25 years. Part of that process will be its construction projects. It is one of our greatest concerns to communicate both our 25 year plan and our mission to our community, ensuring that they remain an integral part of our growth. We have devised this website to keep our many different communities up-to-date on the current construction projects at the University.
Please check here often for updates on the many on-going projects at NYU.

The Concourse Project is the most significant renovation of Stern's facilities since uniting the School's programs at Washington Square. It will effectively reinvent 84,500 square feet of space in the Stern School of Business' three main buildings: Tisch Hall, Henry Kaufman Management Center, and Shimkin Hall. 133-139 MacDougal, currently an office and apartment building which houses the Provincetown Playhouse, occupies an important cultural spot in the history of the American theatre. NYU has recently begun discussions with local community groups about a construction project on the site of 133-139 MacDougal Street that would provide space for legal research centers for the NYU School of Law.
The University has an existing combined heat and power (CHP) plant which provides electrical power to 7 NYU buildings and high temperature hot water to 40 NYU buildings throughout the Washington Square campus. Because the plant is at the end of its useful life, NYU has the opportunity to upgrade and replace the electrical generating equipment to increase the CHP plant output, efficiency, and environmental performance. The new plant will continue to provide high temperature hot water to 40 NYU buildings and will also provide electrical power to an additional 18 to 20 NYU buildings.
