New York University understands the importance and value of clear, coordinated, and consistent communications in contributing to our reputation as a leader in the field of higher education and our emergence as the world's first Global Network University--allowing us to attract the best students, premier faculty, and strategic partnerships.

New York University faculty and staff can begin exploring this website. Other groups, including external consultants, must request the PDF version of the visual identity standard and styleguide from an authorized NYU administrator.

Visual identity is the means by which an organization presents itself through graphics, typography, and images to the outside world. It symbolizes an organization to external stakeholders, and, hence, contributes to its image and reputation.

The value of having standards and guidelines is so that NYU's visual identity is clear, coordinated, and consistent which makes it easily recognizable world-wide. Over time, the visual identity comes to symbolize the values and reputation that the University is associated with.

If you have questions concerning NYU’s visual identity standards or guidelines, send an e-mail request to urpa.styleguide@nyu.edu.

Most noncompliant uses occur because individuals are unfamiliar with the University’s standards and guidelines. Getting them back on track will help the University--and help them. Please e-mail urpa.styleguide@nyu.edu.
