Canceling or Deleting an Event

When you log into the LiveWhale application, you'll be placed into the Your Events screen. A list of your events is displayed.

Note: If you are a member of more than one Calendar Group, you can switch into that group by hovering over your name in the upper right-hand corner, and then clicking the Switch groups: option. Select the appropriate group name from the drop-down menu.

Canceling an Event

If, by unforeseen circumstances, your must cancel your event at the last minute, you can update your event listing to indicate the cancellation.

Example of canceled event

Your event will still appear on the calendar, but will have the word CANCELED next to the event title.

This can also be used to cancel one event in a larger series. See our tutorial on Managing Repeating Events for more information about changing series of events.

1. Click the event title for the specific event you wish to change in order to edit the event.

2. Click the Cancel Event button on the right-hand side near the top of the screen. Or, at the bottom left-hand corner of the Edit an event screen, put a check mark in the box next to This event is canceled.

Edit option to cancel event

3. Scroll to the bottom of the event's page and click the Save this Event button.

If your event is part of a series, click the button to Change only this event. This option will cancel this specific event, but not any other event in the series. This option is helpful when you want to cancel just 1 event, for example - if you have to cancel one week's lecture, but will keep all the other lectures in the series.

Deleting an Event

  1. From the Your Events screen, find the event (or events) you wish to delete in the list and put a check mark in its box.
  2. Choose Delete from the dropdown menu, and click Go.

Note: The selected item(s) will be removed from the system. This action cannot be undone!

You may also delete the item from the event edit screen by clicking the Delete event link on the right side of the screen. You will be prompted to confirm this action.
