Ideally, these videos need to be H.264 codec and 100 to 300meg each, no bigger than 600meg. Their minimum frame size should be 640X360 (16:9) with matching pixel ratio.

A number of reputable free video conversion tools like Handbrake, as well as purchasable software, exist in the marketplace today and are easily found with a quick web search.
NYU does not endorse a specific tool, but have found many of these common tools to be helpful.
