The video component is used to display video within a Web page. This component will pull edited and encoded MP4 videos*, associated caption file, and assigned start image from the Digital Asset Management system to display in the video player.
When to use it?
The video player component should be used to insert topical video content into your pages.
Where to use it?
The video player component may be added to a 4-column, 3-column or 2-column area in a template.
* MP4 is the preferred file format to accommodate both desktop and mobile device playback. M4V formatting will work but this file type is proprietary to Apple and may not be supported long-term. FLV formatting will continue to be supported by NYU but should be avoided as it does not support playback on mobile devices.
