The Digital Communications Group offers a range of services to NYU administrative offices, schools and global sites. The primary focus is on providing guidance and support to all of the universities communities and constituents to ensure relevant content, consistent branding and messaging are properly communicated.

Content Management System

Whether you are on-boarding new content or refreshing existing content, NYU's enterprise web content management system (CMS) is a powerful tool to help groups communicate.


Individual CMS orientation sessions can be scheduled, schedule permitting, or will be built into project plans when DigiComm on-boards new organizations.

New Page Design Help

Does your page need a design makeover? Resources to help modify your existing design or create a new one to fit within the system are available.

Site Architecture/Navigation Change

Visitors need to quickly find what they are looking for and organization is key. If you are planning to re-structure your content and pages, Digital Communications can organize it to ensure it makes sense.

Content Refresh/Content Help

Do you need help updating or editing your content? Annually, the Digital Communications team reviews and can assist or provide tips that could be helpful to create quality content for your page or site.

Custom Template

The site uses a 960 Grid in all of its CMS-driven pages. There are a variety of 5 column grid templates available in the CMS to be used across You can get information on the available custom templates and how to select the right template for your needs.

If you are unable to use one of these, or it doesn’t suit your needs or strategy, you can request a custom template.

NYU Search & Search Engine Optimization

The NYU Search Engine utilizes proprietary technology developed by Google. While we cannot control the results populated, we can advise you on how to have better content to improve your rankings or even possibly have a suggested link at the top of the results.

Style Guide

University Visual Identity

The University has developed Graphic Guidelines which includes Style Guides, Typography, Color Palettes and Logo Usage. It is critical that the visual elements that represent the University and its image do so consistently and with integrity.

E-mail Direct
Custom E-mail Direct Templates

There are a variety of existing E-mail templates available for use, however, the Office of Web Communications can also build out a custom template for your department or unit.

Access to E-mail Direct is needed in order to send University wide bulk e-mail.

University Events Calendar

The University Events Calendar serves as NYU's central source for event information. Any NYU group or department can designate an Administrator, who can submit group events to the website.

DigiComm is working towards bringing the University Events Calendar into the Content Management System by January 2012. Contact for help adding an event or fill out the Project Request Form to set up an administrator.
