Each Fiscal Year runs from September 1st through August 31st.  Below is a basic guide and timeline of NYU’s financial planning cycle.

Fiscal Officer Meetings on Financial Plan with Administrative and Auxiliary Units
Provost Meetings with Deans on Academic Plans
Second Round of Enrollment Planning Meetings

November - December

Fiscal Officer Meetings on Financial Plan with Administrative and Auxiliary Units
Fiscal Officer Meetings on Financial Plan with Academic Units
Publish Version 2.0 of Financial Plan

January

Principal Meetings on Financial Plan with Administrative and Auxiliary Units

February

Principal Meetings on Financial Plan with Academic Units

March

Finalize Version 3.0 of Financial Plan with All Units
Calculate Second Quarter Variance Analysis and Year-End Projections

April

Publish Version 3.0 of Financial Plan for Finance Committee Review

Budget Submission Begins
