New Data Elements in Student Reporting
Consolidation of S05 and S07 into the D01 Dashboard
As part of the Reporting Redesign Project, the D01. Financial Operations Dashboard is being enhanced with additional PO reporting functionality. Key reports from the S05 Accounts Payable and Purchase Order Reports Daily are being consolidated into the D01 to form a single easy to navigate dashboard.
As of July 2020, the S07. Open Advance Payments report has been relocated as a tab within the D01.
Any questions, please feel free to reach out to askDSG@nyu.edu.
Open Advance Report in UDW+ Has Been Relocated
The Open Advance Report - previously located in the S07. AP Open Advance dashboard - has been relocated to the D01. Financial Operations Dashboard.
It is located on the last tab and is named "AP Open Advance Report".
Please reach out to askDSG@nyu.edu if you have any questions or need any assistance.
Fall 2020 Enrollment Data - Beginning April 21, 2020
Fall 2020 enrollment begins on April 20, 2020.
Generally, data is available in UDW+ the next day so reports looking at Fall 2020 enrollment will begin to show data on April 21, 2020 (and continue to update next-day throughout the student enrollment process).
If you would like assistance with running reports, creating ad hocs, or have any questions about the data please reach out to askDSG@nyu.edu.
Student Lists Available in UDW+
The new coronavirus has highlighted the university community's need for quick-turnaround student information. UDW+ is able to provide the NYU community with much of the needed information in the pre-built/standard reports.
There are many pre-built reports available in the UDW+ Student Academic Management Dashboard; a good report to start with is "Student List."
If you do not currently have access but would like to access these reports please follow these steps:
For access to the standard reports
- Ask your Authorized Requestor if they can request access to the UDW+ Student Academic Management Dashboard on your behalf
- Complete STU 010 in iLearn
- Complete the FERPA Tutorial
If you would like the ability to craft your own custom reports, you may want to try the UDW+ Student Ad Hoc reporting. For UDW+ Student Data Ad Hoc access:
- Have experience using the UDW+ Student Academic Management Dashboard
- Have your Authorized Requestor request access to the UDW+ Student Ad Hoc Reporting
- Complete a one-on-one training (currently available via Google Hangouts or Zoom); this can be scheduled by emailing askDSG@nyu.edu and request a Student Ad Hoc Reporting training.
Any questions, please reach out to the Decision Support Group at askDSG@nyu.edu
New Budget Detail Report Available as of Friday, February 28 2020
We are happy to share an exciting update to the UDW+ Financial Reports! As of Friday, February 28 2020, users will be able to run the Budget Detail Report as either a PDF (already available), or an "OBIEE" report -- an in-system, more interactive format of the report (similar to the standard version of the Budget Summary Report, already available to users).
This format allows users to export the data as CSV or Excel, which allows for more flexible and further analysis.
This report will be available on the S01. Budget and Balance Summary and Detail Reports dashboard beginning Friday, February 28 2020.
SLIP communication Email to Fiscal Officers from DSG - October 28 2019
As the new Senior Leadership Information Portal (SLIP) is rolled out to more users, we wanted to take this opportunity to communicate with you the access request process (and the Fiscal Officer role) for this high-level reporting dashboard housed in Tableau.
SLIP requires three elements for access:
- Access to the SLIP dashboard itself (routed to NYU IT by DSG)
- HR data access (routed to HR Officers by DSG)
- Reporting Department access
Reporting Department access is requested and approved through the Chartfield Access Authorization Form. These are the same Reporting Departments used for access to UDW+’s Departmental Metrics Dashboard. On the chartfield report Reporting Departments will display as “Fund 99.”
As Fiscal Officers at NYU, you will be receiving more of these Reporting Department/Fund 99 chartfield access requests. It is required for users to see their high-level (no details) data in the SLIP dashboard.
