The NYU Global Properties Life Safety Guideline Questionnaire is to be used by personnel viewing global properties for use by NYU students, faculty, and staff. The intent is to determine if the property provides adequate life safety provisions in case of emergency to permit occupants to egress the facility safety. Should you have any questions regarding completion of the document or understanding the technical questions, please contact Environmental Health and Safety for assistance.

A fire drill is a tool used to train personnel and building occupants on evacuation procedures and to evaluate evacuation performance. NYU conducts fire drills in academic buildings and dormitories as required by the Fire Department of New York (FDNY). NYU conducts three fire drills per academic year in each academic building and four fire drills per year in dormitories with fire alarms. Office buildings with more than 100 people have two drills per year. See NYU's Fire Drills Policy (PDF) for further details.
