Graduate students in the Department
of Economics at New York University can participate in the research of
the internationally renowned C. V. Starr Center for Applied Economics.
Students have the opportunity to associate with the Center's prominent
visitors and distinguished research scholars.
Purpose
The C.V. Starr
Center for
Applied Economics at New York University provides
research support
for NYU faculty and NYU graduate students within the economics
department. The
main objective of the center is to facilitate frontier
research in economics.
The support
the center provides
takes a number of forms, including:
- Small grants to
support individual NYU
faculty research projects
- Assistance for NYU
faculty in obtaining
outside research funding
- Funds to bring in
distinguished
visitors for seminars, as well extended stays (by invitation)
- Conferences
(typically two or
three per year) sponsored by NYU faculty
- Graduate student
fellowships
and summer RAships for NYU Ph.D. students
- Support for
computational needs
Each year the activities of
the center are detailed in an annual report that is now available on
line.
