Last December, NYUCD unveiled one of its newest facilities, the Paul & Maxine Rosenberg Education Wing.

At approximately 8,000 square feet, the Rosenberg Wing includes the new 50-seat Professor Emeritus Francis V. Panno Seminar Room for postgraduate students, plus a postgraduate study lounge and locker room, open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The overarching theme in this portion of the facility’s design is providing postgraduate students with a facility designed to meet their specific needs. The Rosenberg Wing also includes an inner suite of offices and workspace for two complete departments, the Ashman Department of Periodontology & Implant Dentistry and the Department of Allied Health Programs.

Dean Bertolami officially dedicated the facility, saying:

“Paul Rosenberg’s enormous talents as an educator, clinician, researcher, and mentor merit this wonderful recognition. Paul has devoted decades of outstanding service to NYUCD as Director of the Postgraduate Program in Endodontics, Professor and Chair of the Dr. I. N. and Sally Quartararo Department of Endodontics, and former Associate Dean for Graduate Programs. Paul has also been recognized by New York University with its Distinguished Teaching Award, NYU’s highest honor for teaching -- a distinction attained only by the finest teachers.”

Clinical Professor of Endodontics and former NYU Alumni Trustee, Dr. Ignatius N. Quartararo, spoke of Dr. Rosenberg’s vision for the department, which has led to its status as a global leader. “Throughout its history, endodontics at NYU has been a pacesetter,” said Dr. Quartararo, “especially its postgraduate program, which consistently ranks among the top programs of its kind in the world, and the credit goes in large measure to Paul.”
