Dr.
Stanley N. Turetzky, '62, Assistant Professor of Diagnostic Science
and Urgent Care and Director of Emergency Services, has received the
2005 Alumni Meritorious Service Award, an all-University Award presented
annually to a respected and distinguished graduate of any school,
college, or division at NYU who has demonstrated extraordinary service
and continuing devotion to his or her alma mater and who embodies
the NYU motto, Persevere and Excel.
Dr. Turetzky is also the recipient of the NYU Founders Day Award,
among many others, and a member of OKU, Sigma Xi, and Phi Beta Kappa.
He has served as president and program chairman of the Manhattan
Dental Guild since 1991.
"Stan Turetzky is an exemplary alumnus," said Dean Alfano.
"His devotion to educating generations of NYU College of Dentistry
students over the last four decades is truly exceptional and extends
well beyond his official duties. Stan is beloved by his current and
former students, most of whom he knows by name, regardless of when
they graduated. He well deserves acknowledgement as embodying the
spirit of alumni devotion and distinction that brings pride to New
York University."
