Dean
Alfano Hosts Fun Evening at Big Apple Circus
Hundreds
of NYU dental and nursing students, faculty and staff came together
under the Big Top in October as guests of Dean Alfano at a special,
private performance of Grandma Goes to Hollywood, the 2005-2006 program
presented by the Big Apple Circus at Lincoln Center. In addition
to Grandma the Clown, the show featured acrobats, jugglers, trapeze
flyers, performing horses and dogs, humorists and superheroes. Earlier
fall celebrations have been held at Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum
and the United Nations, among other locations.
"At NYU’s
Colleges of Dentistry and Nursing, we work hard and so several times
a year we look for opportunities also to celebrate with one another," said
Dean Alfano. "These are great occasions for people from different
areas and disciplines to get to know one another in a relaxed, fun
setting. They allow us to recharge our batteries in ways that make
us a more cohesive community. I think those who attended the Big
Apple Circus will agree with me that it was one of our very best
events."
