NYUCD was one of 15 sites nationwide selected to participate in a special teleconference sponsored by the Colgate-Palmolive Company in March 2004 on the links between diabetes and oral health. The teleconference emanated from the American Dental Association (ADA) building in Chicago. Approximately 350 people registered to participate at NYUCD, which broadcast the conference in the Saklad Auditorium. For the past several years NYUCD and Colgate have been partnering in a number of areas, including the education of clinicians on the diabetes-oral health connection.
