Dr. Dianne Rekow Dr. Dianne Rekow, Provost of the Polytechnic Institute of NYU, Senior Vice Provost for Engineering and Technology at NYU, and Professor of Orthodontics at the NYU College of Dentistry, was installed as the 88th President of the International Association for Dental Research (IADR) at the Association’s annual meeting in San Diego, California, in March. A former Chair of NYUCD’s Department of Basic Science and Craniofacial Biology, Dr. Rekow is committed to encouraging basic scientists and clinical researchers to share information as a means of increasing the prospects for translational research. Her research interests include performance and properties of brittle materials and tissue response to scaffolds and ceramic-based dental restorations. She publishes and lectures extensively on orthodontics, dental materials and techniques, and establishing guidelines for the testing of new, advanced ceramic materials for use in crowns.
