Faculty & Staff Development Center

The Faculty Staff Development Center has as its goals:

  • To support the professional growth and career development of full, part-time Faculty and administrative and support staff of NYUCD. To identify, coordinate and develop educational or staff and faculty.
  • To increase the skill level and knowledge base of the entire NYUCD community through individual and group accomplishment. To provide resources to departments to improve evaluation and orientation programs.
  • To provide training and resources, guidance, and facilitation for faculty and staff standardization and calibration. To provide leadership and support to Division Heads, Directors, Administrators, Managers, Supervisors, and Chairpersons, in their efforts to identify the developmental needs of their personnel and to provide appropriate and effective interventions to meet those needs.

To achieve these goals, the Faculty & Staff Development Center provides a number of programs, which include:

Programming
FSDC programming will focus on faculty standardization and general clinical programs for faculty members, staff standardization and professional development in targeted areas for administrators and staff, and general programs that reach both populations.

FSDC Grants
Grants for individual or group faculty/staff development are available from the Faculty and Staff Development Center. Programs, projects, and activities that are college focused (meet the need of the entire school rather than a segment) and facilitate achievement of our mission, will be given priority. All programs, projects, and activities considered for support will be evaluated in terms of their potential for contributing to the growth and health of the college.

CDE Credits
The NYUCD Faculty Staff Development Center provides program participants with certification of their attendance at Center programs. Continuing dental education units are offered in conjunction with the NYUCD Center for Continuing Dental Education. Certificates of attendance are sent to all program participants on a quarterly basis. Participants are responsible for maintaining their own records and for ensuring that they meet the specific requirements needed for re-licensure and certification.
