COURSE OVERVIEW:

New York University College of Dentistry in cooperation with the Universidad Iberoamericana in the Dominican Republic has developed this unique opportunity for practicing dentists to participate in a "hands-on" surgical implant program. Under the guidance and direction of Dr. Nicolas Elian, this continuing dental education program will combine both didactic and clinical surgical aspects of modern implantology.Participants will perform up to five (5) implant surgeries under the direction of NYU faculty. Patients and follow-up care will be provided by UNIBE.

Generally, the following case types will be treated: Patients with adequate bone, missing 1 to 3 teeth in an arch or edentulous mandibles.

PROGRAM DIRECTOR:
Dr. Nicolas Elian
Nicolas Elian, DDS, is Assistant Professor and Head of the Division of Implant Dentistry at New York University College of Dentistry (NYUCD) Department of Periodontology and Implant Dentistry. Renown for his expertise in the evaluation and retreatment of implants, Dr. Elian’s clinical practice focuses on surgical procedures such as advanced bone grafting and ridge augmentations. He completed his DDS degree and post-graduate studies inprosthodontics and implant dentistry at NYUCD. Dr. Elian is currently the Director of the Fellowship Program in Implant Dentistry, and the Director of Experimental Research at NYUCD.
