COURSE OVERVIEW:
Integration of Prosthodontics, Periodontics and Orthodontics will be discussed in both the diagnostic and treatment planning phases of treatment. Treatment indexes designed to enhance communication between various aspects of treatment as well as the role
of cutting edge cone beam computed tomography and interactive software will be examined. In addition, Implant placement and design technologies will be reviewed.
Treatment options utilizing Implant supported fixed restorations as well as overdentures allows for versatility in patient care. In-depth discussions of the critical techniques incorporating border molding for the overdenture patient. State-of-the art technologies in cad-cam technology and the importance of a team approach with the Dental Laboratory Technician will be emphasized.
Course Objectives:
- Employing state-of-the-art computer technologies in diagnosis and treatment planning
- Treatment planning versus treatment execution employing treatment indexes
- Applications of Piezosurgery
- Implant placement and design technologies
- The critical role that the prosthetic driven treatment plays in successful implant treatment
- Overdenture fabrication and associated attachments
- In-depth review of border molding techniques to enhance overdenture stabilization
- Coordination and sequencing with the Dental Laboratory Phases
- Critical steps in both surgical and prosthetic phases to help ensure quality treatment outcomes and patient satisfaction

BIOS:
Miles J. Yacker, DDS is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Ashman Department of Periodontics and Implant Dentistry at NYUCD. Dr. Yacker is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontics and
the American Board of Prosthodontics. He lectures both nationally and internationally, has published, and is co-inventor on applications of thermocouple technology to measure heat during osteotomy site
preparation. Dr.Yacker maintains a private practice in Lawrence, NY.
Lenny Marotta, CDT, MDT, PhD is a Clinical Associate Professor at NYUCD. He is a Professor in Science and Technology Programs, at Farmingdale State College, SUNY. Dr. Marotta graduated from the
Kerpel School of Dental Technology in NYC, and continued his graduate studies at Farleigh Dickenson University, where he focused on Gnathology and SubPeriosteal, Blade and Staple implants. He earned his
degree in engineering from Farmingdale State College, and has a PhD from Leeds Metropolitan University in Biomedical Engineering. Dr. Marotta is a founding member of the ASMDT program at NYU.
He is the owner of Marotta Dental Studio and MDS Cranial Facial Engineering.
Steven Pigliacelli, C.D.T. is Vice President and Director of Education, Marotta Dental Studio, Inc. He has more than 28 years experience as a dental implant specialist. He is a Certified
Dental Technician and manages Marotta Dental Studio. He is the technical liaison between the dentist and the laboratory and writes all of Marotta’s educational and promotional materials, newsletters, and
presentations, as well as maintaining the website, www.marottadental.com
