COURSE OVERVIEW:
The many facets of implant dentistry can create challenges and hurdles when moving through all the phases of treatment. This ADIA Program is aimed at developing an understanding of the responsibilities of each member of the implant team and providing information essential
to auxiliaries working with dental implant patients. The program will evaluate the interaction of implant patients and team members and review methods the team can apply to help guide patients through implant therapy and its various components. Participants will identify
challenges and realistic implementation of strategies to create an ideal patient experience. The program will address all aspects of implantology including treatment planning, surgical, prosthetic and maintenance procedures, case presentation, answers to commonly asked
questions, financial arrangements, medical/dental insurance, motivation and marketing. There will be a half day of workshops to teach many different auxiliary procedures to help create efficient and effective implant teams.
Objectives
Upon completion of this program participants will be able to:
- Develop an appreciation for the role of dental implants in the maintenance of oral health
- Identify patients who would benefit from implant therapy
- Discuss the consequences of non-therapy to patients
- Identify potential medical & medicinal complications related to implant dentistry
- Develop a knowledge base related to treatment planning implant cases
- Understand the causative factors of bone loss around implants
- Describe important techniques for effective case presentation
- Understand how to discuss treatment fees and present financial options
- Review the techniques and skills involved in implant maintenance
- Develop techniques for good intra/inter office communication and documentation
- Understand the laboratory procedures involved in implant therapy
- Understand the radiological importance during treatment planning
- Learn systems and strategies for adapting implants into your work day no matter what your role in the office.

BIO:
Lynn D. Mortilla, RDH received her degree from State University of New York at Farmingdale in 1993. Lynn currently lives in Palm Harbor, Florida where she maintains a private clinical practice. Lynn is currently the Executive Director of the
ADIA & PM and has received her fellowship status. She lectures and publishes nationally on dental implants and maintenance.
