Educational Programs and Contacts
The College of Dentistry is fully accredited by the Commission on Accreditation
of the American Dental Association, and its educational program is conducted
in conformity with the policies of the commission. The College is one
of only four dental schools in New York State and offers training annually
to over 1,600 students from all over the United States and over 50 countries.
These include predoctoral and postdoctoral students of dentistry, as
well as students in dental hygiene. Postdoctoral training is offered
in the following areas: endodontics, oral and maxillofacial surgery,
orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics, pediatric dentistry, periodontics,
prosthodontics, and general dentistry. Overall, more than 45 percent
of the College of Dentistry’s students are women and minorities.
An extensive program for continuing education courses is available for
graduate dentists.
