Advanced Education Programs
Watch video: "Bringing Dental Care and Education to Kasigluk, Alaska"
Over the past 50 years the Advanced Education Program at the New York University College of Dentistry has established one of the most highly regarding postdoctoral training experiences in the world. With the establishment in 2007 of the Witkin Graduate Center for Clinical Excellence the advanced education training programs at NYUCD are undergoing a major educational, philosophical, operational and physical transformation producing a highly integrated learning experience that emphasizes inter-disciplinary treatment planning and care in a patient-centered environment; relevant core educational experiences in the biomedical sciences delivered in a practical, evidence-based scheme; a global learning environment that promotes discovery and innovation; and a professional environment that promotes the highest levels of integrity, multicultural sensitivity, and community service.
The physical transformation includes a reconstruction of six floors totaling over 50,000 square feet providing the most technically and environmentally advanced features supporting a highly interdisciplinary, patient-centric model of learning and patient care. This transformation is well underway with the reconstruction of two floors totaling 15,000 square feet that support specialty-level care in prosthodontics, periodontics and implant dentistry as well as third floor providing 5,000 square feet of core support space dedicated to advanced education programs, including lecture, seminar, study, computer, and locker facilities. Also completed is a 3,000 square foot state-of-the-art suite dedicated to oral and maxillofacial surgery at nearby Bellevue Hospital, which combined in 2009 with an additional 3,000 square foot reconstruction of an oral and maxillofacial surgery suite at NYUCD will provide an outstanding physical environment for post-graduate learning and outpatient care in oral and maxillofacial surgery. The final phases of the reconstruction in the George and Ann Witkin Graduate Center for Clinical Excellence will provide, on three floors totaling over 22,000 additional square feet , extraordinary patient care environments in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics, pediatric dentistry, endodontics and advanced comprehensive care.
The size and diversity of the population in the New York City metro area, patient population at NYUCD, and pre- and post-graduate student body provide a truly exceptional experience that no other institution can. With more than 600 faculty, more than 1,200 dental students, more than 100 post-graduate residents, more than 100 international trainees, and more than 30,000 patients over more than 300,000 annual patient visits (1,500 individual patients treated every day!), the NYUCD community is unlike any other institution in the world.

Gainful Employment Disclosure
Standard Occupational Classification: 29.1022.00
In order to receive federal student aid under Title IV of the Higher Education Act, the US Department of Education (DOE) regulations require institutions of higher education to disclose program cost, median loan debt, on-time completion rate, and (as available) graduate job placement information about non-degree certificate programs that prepare students for "gainful employment". In order to protect student privacy, the US Department of Education excuses institutions from disclosing median loan debts and on-time completion rate information for programs with fewer than ten enrolled students.
In compliance with the Department of Education regulations, the NYU College of Dentistry disclosures for each program can be accessed at: http://www.nyu.edu/admissions/financial-aid-and-scholarships/gainful-employment-disclosure.html
