Comprehensive Dentistry

This program is a full-time, one-year clinical and didactic course of study offered to dentists
from countries other than the United States who seek to improve their clinical skills and knowledge
in this discipline. The curriculum exposes students to a variety of comprehensive dentistry
techniques and new modalities of treatment.
Objectives:
Upon successful completion of the Advanced Program in Comprehensive Dentistry, participants
will have an increased understanding of the biological basis of comprehensive dentistry theory
and practice.
Faculty:
Participants treat a variety of patients under the close guidance of a diverse and experienced faculty comprised of top practitioners in the fi eld of comprehensive dentistry and related areas.
Course Components:
This program features an intensive clinical emphasis with lectures, seminars, conferences,
and patient care experiences which will further develop the participant’s expertise in the field
of comprehensive dentistry. Students who participate in the Comprehensive Dentistry program
will perform all phases of dentistry on a post-graduate level. Phases include, but are not
limited to, crown and bridge, implant supported prosthesis, root canal therapy, partial and full
dentures, porcelain onlays and inlays and porcelain laminates. In addition, participants attend a
pre-clinical practice component, which occurs simultaneously with the applied clinical portion
of the program. This pre-clinical course is designed to increase the student’s skills in all disciplines
of dentistry. Students will have access to the latest equipment, including computerized
simulation equipment, ultrasonic devices and rotary instruments. There are opportunities to participate
in elective experiences such as teaching, research and society meetings. The goal of this
program is to provide the students with the ability to perform competently in private practice.

Program Director - Dr. K. Michael Ghalili
About Dr. Kambiz Michael Ghalili:
K Michael Ghalili, D.D.S., is the Program Director for the Advanced Program for International Dentists in Comprehensive Dentistry at the New York University College of Dentistry. Dr. Ghalili completed his post-graduate degree in Prosthodontics and Masters of Dentistry and Dental Materials at Boston University School of Graduate Dentistry. He is an active member of many dental committees and societies, including the American Dental Association. Dr. Ghalili has published numerous articles and presented and lectured on both a national and international level on aesthetic, restorative and implant dentistry.
