Extraordinary Education and Training in the Greatest City in the World

At NYU College of Dentistry, we take pride in our commitment to provide a rigorous healthcare education that serves as the basis for evidence-based patient care. Recognized as a leading source for dental care in New York City and as a leader in research and national policy issues in dentistry, NYUCD offers education and training annually to over 1,800 students from all over the US and nearly 50 countries - including predoctoral and postdoctoral students of dentistry as well as dental hygiene and nursing students. In addition to educating health professionals, NYUCD endeavors to improve the health of the highly diverse populations in New York City and around the world, and is well on its way to becoming the dental institution in the world with the greatest impact on the health of society.

NYUCD by the numbers:

  • 300,000 patient visits annually — the largest patient population in the country — ensures extraordinary clinical experience for DDS students.
  • Class of 2014 scored first-attempt 99.6% pass rate on part 1 of National Boards.
  • Class of 2013 scored first-attempt 99.4% pass rate on part 1 of National Boards.
  • 92% of Class of 2012 four-year program graduates who applied to general residency and specialty training programs were accepted.

Achieving technical excellence is a well-supported goal, as NYUCD provides:

  • Plastinated specimens to teach anatomy
  • Certification in Invisalign® orthodontic treatment
  • Podcasts for all lectures
  • Implant dentistry training for predoctoral students
  • Special patient care rotations
