Mission Statement

The Office for Student Affairs and Academic Success at NYUCD believes that all students possess the inherent ability to reach their personal and academic goals. Our role is to act as the compass that guides students toward the discovery of their true potential. We connect students to resources, as well as introduce them to new skills, new people, and new paradigms of thought. As students engage more fully with a pluralistic college community, they not only achieve a sense of autonomy but also collectively raise the level of their class's professional and ethical success.

Our Goals: To assist students to be able to:

• Manage transition from college/work force to professional studies and behavior.
• Develop competence: academically, physically, and interpersonally.
• Increase autonomy by fostering self-discipline and by encouraging interdependence on fellow students and faculty.
• Engage in pluralistic communities.
• Establish a professional identity by developing personal and professional integrity.
