Getting Ahead of Ourselves: Disciplines, Pedagogy, and Digital Humanities

Waters notes that Irish Studies is a composite field of intellectual practice that contributes to the advancement of the humanities and social sciences by the ways in which the field poses questions of scale and formulates the dialectic of continuity and change in space and in time. All of these issues are open to radical impacts from the range of digital technologies. In his discussion, Prof. Waters explored the interaction of the conceptual with the practical in the adaptation of an academic program to new pedagogical and research possibilities.
