Integrated Digital Media Institute, NYU Poly
The Betaville project started out as a crossover software art/collaborative design environment concept, a collaboration between the Brooklyn Experimental Media Center and the Media2Culture Institute for Applied Media Research at the Hochschule Bremen. Since then, it has evolved into a flexible open-source toolkit/environment for not only those applications, but for a range of use including 3D GIS work, and other creative, research, and educational uses. Prof. Skelton presented some of the deployments already in progress, and discussed the potential for further development.
