MLK Week 2024 Social Impact Showcase

A part of NYU MLK Week: Power Reimagined, the Social Impact Showcase will invite NYU community members to explore various community needs and social issues at the intersection of service, active citizenship, and social justice. Centering student voices and power, the showcase will feature student-led projects that focus on issues important to our student body, and/or affect positive social change within the NYU community.

NYU students are encouraged to engage with the showcase by attending the event, presenting a project, and/or submitting artwork to be featured in the Social Justice Art Project (SJA) x MLK Week Zine!

NYU MLK Week & NYU Service

Everybody can be great…because anybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t have to make your subject and verb agree to serve...You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.” - Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., speaking before the Ebenezer Baptist Church in 1968.

Dr. King's legacy and teachings remind us that engaging in service is a powerful way to bring people together and advocate for change. Use the resources below to learn more about Dr. King, and how to get involved.
