Analytics
Google Analytics is a self-service tool that provides analytical data on content pages within NYU.edu and its subdomains.
Please Note: Google is phasing out the former version of Google Analytics, Universal Analytics (UA), in favor of its newest iteration, Google Analytics 4 (GA4). While NYU-Google Analytics UA properties have now stopped displaying new data, GA4 property users have received access and can continue finding new metrics there.
The NYU Analytics Support team will continue to provide more information about the GA4 migration to impacted users. If you have any questions, please email our team.
Account Eligibility
NYU CMS Users
Full-time faculty and staff with active accounts in NYU's web content management system (CMS) are eligible for access to the shared NYU view in Google Analytics.
School Web & Enterprise Application Teams
School and enterprise web application teams can request to have a Google Analytics property created and shared. This not only grants access to the primary website but also grants access to a roll-up view to see how that website connects with other NYU websites and web applications.
Special Considerations
Considerations will be made for employees, contracted vendors/affiliates, and graduate students who may not be regular on-going members of a web or web app team but hold positions involving data analysis. Existing employees who have NYU-Google Analytics access may sponsor temporary accounts for these individuals and must take full responsibility for their actions within the service, including data exports and creation of shared assets.
