Nine members of the NYU alumni community were among the nominees in eight categories when the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences announced its nominations for the 88th Annual Academy Awards on January 14, 2016. Eight alumni of the Tisch School of the Arts were nominated, with the remaining one, Rooney Mara, hailing from the Gallatin School of Individualized Study.

The Academy Awards will be hosted by Chris Rock and will take place at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on Sunday, Feb. 28. Below is the full list of NYU alumni Oscar nominees:
