The New York University Bookstore will host events next month featuring New York Times best-selling author Katherine Howe (Sept. 16), a panel on “The Secrets of Publishing” (Sept. 29), poetry readings (Sept. 30), and more at its 726 Broadway location (between Astor Place and Washington Place).

Writer D. Watkins is a new voice on race in America. He has been on “Meet the Press” and CNN and a guest of Katie Couric on Yahoo! News. Watkins is a professor at Coppin State University and runs a creative writing workshop at the Baltimore Free School.

Mark Statman’s most recent book of poetry is “That Train Again” (Lavender Ink, 2015). A poet, essayist, and translator, Statman is an associate professor in Literary Studies at Eugene Lang College. Marc Vincenz is a poet and translator. He has published eight collections of poetry; his latest is “This Wasted Land and Its Chymical Illuminations” (Lavender Ink, 2015).
