NYU Wagner, in partnership with the University of Edinburgh, is pleased to host, at the NYU Kimmel Center, The Right Honourable Tricia Marwick, the presiding officer of the Scottish Parliament, for a lunchtime discussion about the Scottish independence referendum of 2014.

The Scottish independence referendum of 2014 was a fascinating and inspiring example of democratic engagement, with over 3.6 million people—or nearly 85% of those eligible—turning out to vote. NYU Wagner, in partnership with the University of Edinburgh, is pleased to host The Right Honourable Tricia Marwick, the presiding officer of the Scottish Parliament, for a lunchtime discussion about the referendum, and its larger implications for the democratic process and public policy on Friday, April 10, from12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at NYU Kimmel Center for University Life, Rm. 914, 60 Washington Square South, 9th Floor.

Ms. Marwick will be joined in conversation by Charlie Jeffery, vice principal at the University of Edinburgh, and Michael Laver, dean for the social sciences for NYU's Faculty of Arts and Science. Anthony Bertelli, NYU Wagner vice dean for academic affairs and professor of public policy, politics, and law will moderate.
