The Creative Writing Program’s Spring 2013 Reading Series continues in March with events featuring Brooklyn Poet Laureate Tina Chang (March 14) and Pulitzer-Prize-winning poet Paul Muldoon (March 28).

The New York University Creative Writing Program’s Spring 2013 Reading Series continues in March with events featuring Brooklyn Poet Laureate Tina Chang (March 14) and Pulitzer-Prize-winning poet Paul Muldoon (March 28). All events are held in the program’s Greenwich Village home, the Lillian Vernon Creative Writers House, located at 58 W. 10th Street (between 5th and 6th Aves.), unless otherwise noted.

Fiction and Nonfiction Reading: Nicholas Christopher, David Shields, and Terese Svoboda
Poet and novelist Nicholas Christopher’s novel “Tiger Rag” is new from Dial Press. David Shields reads from his new nonfiction title “How Literature Saved My Life” (Knopf, February 2013). Fiction writer and poet Terese Svoboda’s novel “Tin God” will be reissued by University of Nebraska Press/Bison Books in April.

James Arthur’s debut, “Charms Against Lightning,” appeared from Copper Canyon Press in 2012. Heather Christle’s most recent book is “What Is Amazing” (Wesleyan University Press, 2013). Arda Collins received the Yale Series of Younger Poets Prize for “It Is Daylight” (Yale University Press, 2009).

Acclaimed novelist Siri Hustvedt’s most recent work is “Living, Thinking, Looking” (Picador, 2012), a collection of essays. The Emerging Writers Reading Series showcases the student talent of NYU’s graduate Creative Writing Program and feature established writers as special guests.
