NYU’s Hartford Institute for Geriatric Nursing Releases “ConsultGeriRN” its First iPad App

New York University College of Nursing’s (NYUCN) Hartford Institute for Geriatric Nursing (HIGN) has developed ConsultGeriRN, an app on the iPad designed to help healthcare professionals with their decision making in providing the best quality care for older adults.

"This app marks the beginning of our journey to use mobile devices to get the most recent evidence based practice content to nurses, physicians and other health care providers so they can give the best care to our older population," said Tara A. Cortes, Phd, RN, FAAN, Executive Director, The Hartford Institute for Geriatric Nursing, and Professor, NYUCN.

ConsultGeriRN is a 24/7 mobile reference providing information and tools to treat common problems encountered in the health care of older adults. It is a powerful and readily accessible tool for healthcare professionals as they meet new situations in everyday practice.

HIGN has used the most current evidence based practice standards for the care of older adults to develop this application.  These standards of care are now available to healthcare professionals worldwide, providing them with information at their fingertips without ever needing to leave the bedside.

Current topics include Delirium, Agitation, Confusion, Fall Prevention and Post Fall Evaluation.

The app is available for $1.99 in the iTunes Store. https://itunes.apple.com/us/artist/new-york-university/id485666462
