Media industry’s top minds to assemble, discuss, and debate during Advertising Week

The New York University School of Continuing and Professional Studies (NYU-SCPS), through its Master of Arts in Graphic Communications Management and Technology program, will host MEDIA Magazine’s Fifth Annual “Future of Media” Forum on Wednesday, October 3 at the NYU Kimmel Center, starting at 8 a.m. The Forum coincides with Advertising Week, an annual gathering of advertising, marketing, media and communications leaders.

“We’re excited to again present our annual exploration of the frontiers of media,” said Kenneth Fadner, chairman and publisher of Media Post Communications, the holding company for MEDIA Magazine. “Things have changed so rapidly and so dramatically in the world of media that we’ve had lively debates for four straight years. The ‘Future of Media’ Forum is all about where we’re going as an industry. With that question continually under study, what better host and sponsor for the Forum than NYU, New York City’s top academic institution, covering the same subject matter?”

The “Future of Media” Forum brings together the most prominent executives from all sides of the media business to share and discuss the industry’s future. This year’s panel includes: David Fischer, vice president, marketing, Facebook; Eric Hirshberg, CEO, Activision; Arianna Huffington, co-founder, the Huffington Post; David Kenny, chairman and CEO, the Weather Channel; Nigel Morris, CEO, Aegis Media Americas & EMEA; Miles Nadal, CEO, MDC Partners; and Tony Pace, CMO, SUBWAY Franchise World Headquarters.

“We are pleased to host and sponsor the 2012 ‘Future of Media’ Forum,” said Bonnie Blake, academic director of the NYU-SCPS M.A. in Graphic Communications Management and Technology program. “This is an important discussion about the many challenges and opportunities for the media industry in commerce and society. The Forum will encourage an exchange of ideas among students, alumni, faculty members, and industry leaders.”

The “Future of Media” Forum begins at 8 a.m. and ends at 10:45 a.m. To learn more and to register, visit http://www.mediapost.com/futureofmedia.
