Annika Krump will take audience at her upcoming Deutsche Haus performance on a journey through Berlin.

New York University’s Deutsches Haus will celebrate the Day of German Unity with singer Annika Krump’s performance of Berlin chansons from 10 decades on Wednesday, October 3, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

The event is free and open to the public (42 Washington Square Mews, New York, N.Y.)
Annika Krump’s new program is a journey through a Berlin century. Channeling the most fascinating women in chanson culture from 1912 to today, the singer and accordion player tells the story of Berlin through the Weimar Republic, the Great Depression, the construction of the wall and finally Germany’s reunification with chansons from Claire Waldoff, Blandine Ebinger, Lotte Lenya, Marlene Dietrich, Hildegard Knef, Nina Hagen, Nena and Judith Holofernes.

While the event is free of charge, those wishing to attend should let Deutsches Haus know in advance by sending an email to deutscheshaus.rsvp@nyu.edu. Space at Deutsches Haus is limited; therefore, please arrive 10 minutes prior to the event.
