The Affordable Care Act and Its Implications for the Public’s Health – Sept. 21

The Affordable Care Act has been the subject of a great deal of scrutiny and controversy. But what do we actually know about how the ACA will impact public health?

On Friday, September 21, the NYU Master of Public Health program will host a discussion of the ACA by a group of expert panelists, including senior officials from the New York Academy of Medicine and the National Physicians Alliance, as well as a former national legal director of the ACLU. The panelists will provide an update on the legal status of the ACA and the controversy over individual mandates, and discuss the components of the ACA related to prevention and public health. They will also examine opportunities in the ACA to improve population health. Bring your questions and expect a lively and informative discussion.

The event begins at 6:00 p.m. at the NYU Kimmel Center for University Life, Room 914, at 60 Washington Square South, New York, N.Y.
